Need a musician or band for your special event, wedding, advert? Need to find an experienced cello player for that track? Need some music composing for a radio advert? To search for musicians online, we ask only that you register a few basic contact details and a password and user name. Then you can start searching immediately. Registration, searching, and CV downloads are all free.

Freelance Trainers .net is a free service provided by Iconworks. It gives access to Freelance Musicians, initially in the UK, but we will soon expand to musicians and recruiters in other countries.

Musicians may register and change their details at any time. As far as we are aware, all the musicians registered are currently looking for work.

Recruiters can search our online database free of charge for musicians and contact them direct.

Musicians are a unique bunch. According to neurologist Oliver Sacks, (at the Chamber Music America Conference, January 2008) the brain of a musician has noticably different brain functions to non musicians, to the extent of suggesting that you could tell a musician just by looking at his or her brain.

For whatever reason, musicians can have a reputation of being unreliable, in their own world, being generally unsociable or constantly drunk. Perhaps this comes from a minority of amateur musicians with big egos, perhaps from a few 'messed up' musicians apearing in the media. There are, of course, musicians who fit some (or all) of these descriptions, but most professional musicians take their work very seriously. Many are freelance music professionals, who have worked hard to build up a reputation and continue to work hard to maintain it. So, how do you make sure you find a musician who is good at what they do, but also prides themselves in being reliable, hard working and generally have a good attitude?

Who says working in the music industry is so difficult? The UK apparently has 20% of the worldwide music industry. While being the next [insert favourite famous artist here] might take a bit more effort, tallent and luck, the music industry is massive and there might just be room for you!
